About Me

My photo
My name is Simone, my sister calls me Pony. This is my blog about life. I have just purchased my first home and I plan on documenting the progress we make decorating and tweaking our nest while still keeping busy with the things I love.

Do you zumba?

I did zumba at the gym tonight! My whole body is a little sore, although I did thoroughly enjoy it.
I am the most uncoordinated person alive, there was a lady in her 60's rocking a valour tracksuit who put me and my arse wiggling to shame tonight!

Zumba outfits all  by Lorna Jane.

I think I might make zumba part of my regular gym sessions, hopefully I can get some more coordination!
What is your favorite workout?

Pink Parade

I would like to collect a group of people and create a pink bicycle parade. It might look like this...
Pashley
BEG

I would wear this..
ASOS
How many of you out there are pink cycle ladies or men? What colour is your sweet ride (or ride of your dreams?)

Happy dreaming Monday xoxox

Did you have a lovely weekend?

I hope you all had a good weekend!
I was v busy and am almost ready for bed.

Friday night mum and dad came over and we coked a roast chicken from scratch and watched the footy...I forgot to take photos.

Saturday morning was beautiful. I got up early and went to the gym (to make up for the weekend ahead). A and I did a big op shop run and dropped off our old table and chairs, and heaps of old clothes!
Then a bit of ski boot shopping for A, I couldn't resist trying on a sweet pair as well.

Saturday night we had friends over. The girls and I decided that pimms cocktails and mojitos would be the drinks of choice. It was a big night of dancing, my legs are still sore!

I danced soo much that I didn't wake up with a headache!

Sunday morning dad, A and I headed off to Inverleigh a little town about  30 minutes away to watch my cousin play in the local under 12s footy! It was an enjoyable game but sooo freezing. Inverleigh is a cute little town.

Oh yeah, rocking out the classic rock FM with Dad!
I had a lady afternoon watching documentaries on Berlin, then A and I went out for delicious Thai with my sister and her fiance!

A big but eventful weekend! I think i'm ready for a big shower and bed now!

Frostbite from my pocket

There has not been much riding of late due to inclement weather. But is is ski season and we are off the a winner start!
With a week already booked at Perisher and a few day trips planned the snow accessorising begins!

A purchased a pair of ski boots as he hasn't done much skiing the past and is keen to get better (well my love for the snow may also be pushing him).
As we are doing a week, hire boots would be awful and uncomfortable.
However it did make yearn for a new pair of ski boots. I got my current ones on sale while I was at uni and they have treated me well but are a bit to basic for what I need.

I tried these babies on yesterday.

The picture doesn't really do them justice but the liner is quilted gold. (the outer shell is see through). They are designed to keep your feet super warm which is what I need.

I also love this jacket...puffy goodness.

I am very aware that none of this stuff matches, I am normally a coordinated girl but the on slopes I prefer a mismatched look with wacky colours and fun beanies!

Love in Berlin

I have had a busy week which equates to a quiet week in the land of the blog.

This afternoon i am curled up on the couch with a massive cup of tea and watching a documentary on various architecture in Berlin.

Berlin is one of the best places I have been. I only managed 5 days there and felt like it wasn't anywhere near enough time!

I was amazed and fascinated by Berlin. I learnt a huge amount and fell in love with the city.
I toured much of Berlin by bike. It is such a quick and easy way to get around. The city is huge, walking would take soo long!

Apple Cake Love

My sunday checklist didn't really get completed.

We did get the shopping done and I did some baking but the wind was too cold for a ride and picnic.
For dinner I planned on making okonomiyaki but had cake and champagne instead in celebration as A's sister had a baby.

I made an apple cake from Taste. I didn't completely follow the recipe.

1/2 cup of brown sugar with 125grams of butter

I added 1 tablespoon instead of teaspoon of vanilla extract.

Mix well until light and fluffy

Next is 1/2 a cup of plain flour and 1 cup of SR flour.

Sift into the butter and sugar mix

add 3/4 cup of milk and fold everything until combined

The recipe suggested two small apple, I used large and almost had a double layer.

Crispy on the outside moist on the inside! best!

celebration dinner!
My pan was a bit bigger so when I poured the mix in there was nowhere near enough. Then I read the comments on taste that suggested making more mix. I should have heeded their warnings!
So i made another batch and added it to the first lot.
I put extra apples on and I'm glad I did, I would also put some apple in the middle next time as well as the cake was bigger!
It did take well over an hour so will do for dinner washed down with champagne!

I think I will go jogging in the morning!

How was your weekend? xoxox

Sunday Sleep In

I did try and have a massive sleep in today but after several phone calls from my family this morning there is no getting back to sleep.

Today's Plans:

1. Tidy the house (we had friends over for drinks, the place gets pretty messy quickly!)
kaboodle

2. Complete odd jobs i.e: new water filter, grocery shop, ski boots for A.
